Matching Gifts
Double the impact of your donation. Many employers offer matching gift programs and will match the charitable contributions or volunteer hours made by their employees. Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses and will give you up to one year after your donation to request a match.
Step 1: Determine If Your Company Matches
Check your company’s donation portal or contact the HR team to obtain a matching gift form and program guidelines.
Here is a sample email language:
I’m interested in supporting the 501(c)(3) charity Cancer Family Care (EIN: 31-0805286), a nonprofit organization based in Cincinnati that provides mental health counseling and supportive services to individuals and families dealing with a cancer diagnosis.
I’ve heard that many companies will match charitable donations made by their employees. This would mean that my gift to Cancer Family Care could go even further in helping to support individuals in their time of need
Please let me know if our company offers a program like this, and how I can sign up to have my donation to Cancer Family Care matched.
Step 2: Submit Your Match
If your company is eligible you may need to complete the gift matching process online via your company’s donation portal—or request a matching gift form from your employer and send it with your gift.
Send your completed matching gift forms or agency online verification requests to:
